“The official date of the Faculty’s establishment is considered to be October 1, 1974, when the Institute of Industrial Organization and Management (OiZP) was founded and classes began for first-year full-time and part-time master’s students in the field of Industrial Organization and Management.”
Zbigniew Łucki, Chronicle of the Faculty of Industrial Organization and Management, AGH

1974
The initiator of the Faculty's establishment and its first dean was Associate Professor Dr. Eng. Ferdynand Szwagrzyk.

1974 - 1979
Full-time and part-time studies in the field of Management and Marketing were launched. This marked the culmination of many years of teaching organization and management across various faculties of AGH, which had begun long before World War II. In 1979, the Faculty was granted the use of a building on Gramatyka Street.

1980 - 1989
In 1980, the Faculty of Industrial Organization and Management was officially established, consisting of two institutes: the Institute of Industrial Organization and Management and the Institute of Economic Sciences. The number of students admitted each year ranged between 50 and 100.

1990 - 1999
The second pivotal moment came in 1992, when the Faculty received its current name. The 1990s brought rapid development of the Faculty in all aspects, driven by the country’s political and economic transformation. The number of students admitted annually increased to several hundred.

2000 - 2009
As a result of high demand for educational services, the Faculty established two Off-Campus Teaching Centers in Krosno and Oświęcim and expanded its teaching facilities by adding a modern, well-equipped lecture hall. There was also significant growth in the academic staff, both in terms of quantity and quality.

2010 - 2019
The following years saw the continued development of the Faculty. A new field of study, Computer Science and Econometrics, was launched at both undergraduate and graduate levels, along with an English-language program in International Management. The Faculty also began cooperation in the area of double degree programs, including partnerships with universities in Ukraine and Italy.

2020 - 2029
The Faculty's further educational expansion led to the establishment of the Business School, dedicated to offering MBA programs. English-language programs such as International Management and Digital Production for Sustainable Manufacturing were launched. The rest of the story is still being written...
